Positions
Whether you’re an attackman, midfielder, defenseman or goalie, lacrosse offers something for everyone. No matter what position you hold in lacrosse, it’s sure to be an enjoyable experience!

Attack
Playing attack in lacrosse is an exciting position on the field. Attackmen are responsible for shooting, passing, and moving the ball up the field toward the goal. Attackmen must be fast on their feet and have good stick skills in order to outmaneuver opposing defenders. With practice, you can create scoring opportunities for your team at attack.
Defense
To play effective defense in lacrosse, you need to learn various defensive techniques such as body positioning, stick checks, and communication. Additionally, it is important to know when to apply pressure on the ball carrier and when to back off. With proper practice and focus on fundamentals, you can become an outstanding defensive player in lacrosse.
Faceoff
Playing faceoff in lacrosse is an exciting and intense way to get the game started. It is a one-on-one battle between two lacrosse players, where the goal is to gain possession of the ball. To be successful at this skill, players need to have great hand-eye coordination, agility, and quick thinking.
Midfield
Playing midfield, or “middie”, in lacrosse is an important role, as you are responsible for both offense and defense. As a midfielder in lacrosse, you must be able to transition quickly between the two roles, all while controlling the flow of the game. To succeed at the midfield position, you must have quick feet, great communication skills, and be comfortable playing both offense and defense.
Goalie
As the last line of defense, goalies must possess a strong sense of anticipation in order to anticipate their opponents’ shots. Goalies must also have good hand-eye coordination, agility, and quick reflexes in order to make saves. Learn the goalie position and become a difference-maker on your team!
